AVM presents the new FRITZ! products for the digital home
At this year’s MWC in Barcelona, German company AVM presented its new FRITZ! devices and products for high-speed home networking over 5G, fibre, DSL and cable.
Highlights include:
Tri-band FRITZ!Box for fiber and DSL with Wi-Fi 7 and Zigbee
New FRITZ!Box 5690 Pro, which supports both fiber optic and DSL connections. In addition, the new FRITZ!Box 5690 Pro offers very powerful tri-band Mesh including 6 GHz, the new third Wi-Fi frequency band. The new FRITZ!Box 5690 Pro supports the current Wi-Fi 6 wireless standard as well as Wi-Fi 7, the next generation in Wi-Fi, with improvements in latency, speed and throughput. Wired networking including a 2.5 gigabit LAN/WAN port or Smart Home options via DECT ULE, Zigbee and Matter also make the FRITZ!Box 5690 Pro an all-rounder in the digital home.
First available all-in-one router for cable internet with Wi-Fi 7 and Zigbee
With new FRITZ!Box 6670 Cable and AVM is bringing Wi-Fi 7, the new generation of Wi-Fi, to cable connections. The new cable model for DOCSIS 3.1 connections combines fast internet with Wi-Fi 7 for gigabit speeds throughout the home network. Streaming, gaming, Smart Home or working from home – the FRITZ!Box 6670 Cable is the ideal router for all applications at home.
10 gigabit/s for fiber optic connections
With an impressive 10 gigabit/s, AVM is setting new standards for ultra-fast fiber internet with the FRITZ!Box 5690 XGS. With powerful Wi-Fi 7 and Wi-Fi 6, a 10 gigabit LAN/WAN port, and the full range of telephony, Smart Home, and networking features familiar from FRITZ!Box, it is the fiber gateway for all digital applications at home.
Gigabit speed with Wi-Fi 7 for DSL internet
The FRITZ!Box 6860 5G enables a fast and reliable internet connection via 5G. The fixed wireless access product supports 5G (NSA, SA) as well as LTE and achieves data rates of up to 1.3 gigabit/s. Equipped with strong Mesh Wi-Fi according to the Wi-Fi 6 standard, it can also distribute data wirelessly throughout the home. It has a DECT base for telephony and Smart Home applications and supports Voice over LTE and Voice over New Radio. Thanks to its compact housing and the power and data connection via Power over Ethernet, the FRITZ!Box 6860 5G can be flexibly placed anywhere in users’ homes, on a wall or window and even outside.
New: more flexibility in the Mesh Wi-Fi with FRITZ!Repeater as Mesh Master
A FRITZ!Box on the internet connection and FRITZ!Repeater form a powerful Mesh system that allows users to flexibly extend the range of their Wi-Fi as needed. AVM was presenting an extension of the FRITZ! Mesh Repeater, which forms a flexible and scalable Mesh system in existing networks, independent of the router. AVM was demonstrating such a Mesh extension with three FRITZ!Repeater 3000 AX, with one of the repeaters taking on the function of Mesh Master.
Smart Home with DECT ULE, Zigbee and the Matter standard
All new FRITZ! products offer a comprehensive Smart Home experience via the proven DECT ULE standard. A variety of energy, heating and lighting activities can be controlled intelligently and in an energy-efficient manner using the FRITZ!App Smart Home. The FRITZ!Box 5690 Pro and 6670 Cable also support Zigbee and are prepared for the Matter standard. Users therefore have a wide range of smart application options and possibilities without the need for an additional Smart Home hub.
Fiber optic internet made easy: FRITZ!OS 7.80
The new FRITZ!OS 7.80 for FRITZ!Box 5590 Fiber, 5530 Fiber, 7590 AX, 7530 AX brings more transparency for stable and fast fiber optic connections and makes it easier to get online with fiber optic internet.
